Corruption is not only seen and evident in politics, it also exists on areas we really not thought of.

Considering that education is very important, I enrolled myself in a quite recognized university. It's good and in accord with my economic status - not that expensive and has an agreeable quality. Even managed to pass the examination with an above average grade, I was granted a scholarship. Nursing was really booming during those times so I chose the said course.

Though the "general" enrollment fee (including the amount needed per unit and subject which is only cheap) was equal for all courses, the miscellaneous fees, especially for my preferred course, were so costly. I really did not mind that much thinking that this is still cheaper compared to other universities and that maybe it's worth it.

Four years past, and with all those years nothing changed. What I expected before I enrolled in this university were all wrong. All those payments all turned to dust or most probably turned to the pockets of the school administrators and faculties. It's not only me who payed a lot we're not just "couple" of students because our population is quite large and it's not just the enrollment fee that we payed but also the miscellaneous and so much more unexplained fee. When I was in third year, our batch decided to pay ahead for our future culmination program. Few days before the stated event, we approached a faculty and asked if we can get the money because we have to but a couple of things. His shocking reply was silence with a smirk. He said that the faculty members decided to invest our money into something (where students are not involved and does not get the benefits). What? Used our money for their own sake?

I can still remember the time when we contributed to pay the rent of the projector used during our discussion. The hell! Those imaginary fees were not still enough? They should have charged us hourly just by sitting on our chairs. There were no improvements in our building when they should have purchased new equipment (our dummy needs to be replaced - they can't be saved in any possible way). It even came to a point when every time we have return demonstrations, our clinical instructors (or us students) just say "assuming (this is an IV bottle, cannula, etc) just because we don't have supple of equipment. We payed large sums of money which ended on the administrators larger pockets!
